A warm invitation from Micah and the WEASC (World Evangelical Alliance Sustainability Center) to start a conversation with the UN.
During the Season of Creation, high ranking UN officials will take time for you, to start a conversation about the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Face-to-face, in English and via Zoom!
The Season of Creation is celebrated annually by Christians of all traditions. It is a worldwide celebration of prayer and action to protect creation. The Season runs from September 1, the Day of Prayer for Creation, to October 4, the feast of St. Francis, the patron saint of ecology in many traditions. During 2020’s Season of Creation Micah and the
WEASC offer a unique opportunity to you: A talk with a UN representative; in a 60 minutes Zoom meeting in English, with five volunteers and one high ranking UN representative. The main topic? The UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Politics, its institutions and the people who take responsibility within them are our partners for the transformation of the world and the global solidarity we dream of. It is important to stay in touch with each other, which is why we are so happy to be able to extend this unique invitation.
In small groups you will gain insight into the work and motivations of leading UN officials. You will learn about the complexities of dealing with and pushing for more global sustainability efforts. In return, the UN officials would like to learn from you about your experience with the SDGs and other UN programs in everyday life, what possibilities you see to establish sustainability on different levels and what role your faith plays for your engagement. They are happy to enhance their knowledge of the relevance of churches and other faith-based groups for global sustainability efforts.
You will be prepared for the meeting by staff from the
Micah office and the WEASC in a video conference. Afterwards there will be the opportunity for all interested parties to exchange and evaluate their experiences. After your free registration has been confirmed, you will be divided into discussion groups and prepared for the talks with a webinar and a pre-zoom meeting.
Please keep in mind: the places are limited! Therefore, please register as soon as possible at the Micha office. We are looking forward to the exchange with you and the UN-representatives.

We are currently in the process of arranging all zoom interviews with the Heads of Agencies. Therefore we cannot yet release the exact dates for registration. The appointments will mostly take place during the week in the afternoon and we try to make them as late in the afternoon as possible so that as many of you as possible can attend.
