Connecting to care for our common home

The Oikos Network connects Christians around the world who are taking action to tackle the environmental crisis. We create online communities to restore, reinvigorate and reinspire Christian climate activists.

The Oikos Network

Are you a Christian who is passionate about environmental care and already active in engaging the church, the wider community, or both but would like support to see the change you long for?

The Oikos Network will be a space to build friendships and connections with like-minded individuals from across the globe through online peer-support groups and events. It will be a place for you to voice your frustrations, celebrate your successes and learn together how to reach effectively into the Church and the wider community in this vital area of whole creation care.

Jasmine, a participant from the Philippines, said: "I really enjoy hearing about different aspects of everyone's journeys in each session. I am inspired by what people are learning, reflecting on and experiencing in their current lives and work. I love that we all serve and work in different contexts as it adds richness to what we share and it sparks new thoughts/ ideas. I feel it's a safe space to share honestly and in some ways, a space where we are better understood than in some other circles, because of our shared vision in caring for God's creation. (In other words, we don't need to convince anyone here. We're all actively engaged in it.)"

The partners behind The Oikos Network (A Rocha, Renew Our World, the Anglican Alliance, the Lausanne World Evangelical Alliance Creation Care Network and Tearfund) are constantly looking for people who would like to join this network.

It will involve joining an online peer-support group with other people from different countries. The groups will be conducted in English. You need to commit to meeting once a month for the duration of the group, for around 1.5 hours. As the groups are online, having a good internet connection is essential. There is no cost to taking part.

Tearfund will provide a facilitator for the group and a resource to guide the discussion. It will be an opportunity to share ideas, discuss barriers, and solve problems together.

At the end of the duration of the group, you will be free either to continue meeting with your peer-support group or leave at that point.

If you are interested in taking part, please fill out the application form here.
