1. Who we are
The WEA Sustainability Center ("the Center," "we," "us") is a ministry of the World Evangelical Alliance (WEA). This policy explains how we handle personal information collected through this website (the "Site"). If you have questions about this policy or how your information is handled, see Contact us below.
This policy covers this Site only. The World Evangelical Alliance's main website, worldea.org, is operated separately and has its own privacy policy, which applies when you visit that site instead of this one.
2. Information we collect
We collect information in the following ways:
- Mailing list sign-ups. If you join our network through the form on this Site, we collect your name, email address, organization or church, and country.
- Direct correspondence. If you email us, we receive whatever information you include in that message.
- Petitions and statements you sign. Some pages link out to a third-party form provider (Jotform) where you can add your name to a public statement. That information is collected by Jotform on our behalf — see Third-party services below.
- Basic technical information. Like most websites, our hosting provider automatically logs standard technical data (such as IP address, browser type, and pages visited) for security and reliability purposes. We do not currently use analytics or advertising trackers on this Site.
3. How we use your information
We use the information we collect to:
- Respond to your questions or requests;
- Send updates about the Center's work, if you've joined our mailing list;
- Maintain the security and proper functioning of the Site.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.
4. Legal basis for processing
Where the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) or a similar law applies to you, we process your information on the following bases: your consent (for example, when you join our mailing list or accept cookies), our legitimate interest in operating and securing the Site, and, where applicable, to take steps you request before entering into an arrangement with us (for example, responding to an inquiry).
5. Cookies and similar technologies
This Site does not use advertising or analytics cookies of its own. Some pages include embedded third-party content (described below) that can set its own cookies when it loads. We are in the process of adding a cookie notice so you can control these before they load.
6. Third-party services embedded on this site
Some pages include content hosted by other organizations. When that content loads, the third party may collect information according to its own privacy policy, independent of us:
- YouTube. Some pages embed YouTube videos. Loading these may allow Google/YouTube to set cookies. See Google's Privacy Policy.
- Jotform. Pages that let you "add your name" to a statement link out to Jotform's website; we don't embed Jotform on this Site itself. See Jotform's Privacy Policy.
- Google Maps. Some pages link out to a Google My Maps page; the map itself is not embedded on this Site. See Google's Privacy Policy.
- Web fonts. The Sora and Inter typefaces used on this Site are self-hosted on our own server — no font files or related data are requested from Google or any other third party.
7. Sharing and international transfers
We don't sell or rent your personal information. We share it only with the service providers described above (for example, Jotform, if you choose to sign a statement) and where required by law. Because some of our service providers operate outside your country, your information may be transferred internationally; where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for such transfers.
8. Data retention
We keep mailing list information for as long as you remain subscribed, and correspondence for as long as reasonably needed to address your inquiry and keep a record of it. You can ask us to delete your information at any time — see Your rights.
9. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to: access the personal information we hold about you; correct inaccurate information; request deletion; restrict or object to certain processing; receive a copy of your data in a portable format; and withdraw consent at any time (for example, by unsubscribing from our mailing list). To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details below. If you're not satisfied with our response, you have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
10. Children's privacy
This Site is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We'll update the "Last updated" date above when we do. If changes are significant, we'll make that clear on this page.
12. Contact us
