LWCCN Webinar: Health & Creation Care

Our changing environment is already affecting human health—physically, mentally, and across communities. This 90-minute Lausanne/WEA Creation Care Network (LWCCN) webinar explores the vital connections between creation care and human wellbeing, showing how faithful earthkeeping supports public health, mental resilience, and community flourishing.

Experts, Dr. David Boan and Laura Joseph from the WEA Global Health and Flourishing initiative (see their bios below), will share theological insights, emerging research, and practical strategies to equip churches and leaders to pursue holistic, health-affirming creation care—especially in contexts where skepticism toward science or climate change can hinder collective action.

Speaker Bios

Laura Joseph is a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist in New York City, and her husband, Abraham, is the pastor of Calvary Baptist Church in Manhattan. They have two adult children and spent about 10 years in ministry in south India and another 4 in the Philippines. Just before moving to NYC, Laura completed her master's in Theology, Ecology, and Food Justice at Truett Seminary and Baylor University, further refining her passion for seeing Christians work effectively in the area of local and global hunger. This year, she has joined David in the Global Health and Flourishing hub as the Fellow for Nutrition and Food Justice.

Dr. David Boan (PhD Clinical Psychology, Biola University) is the director of the Global Health and Flourishing Team (GHF) at the WEA. Dr. Boan has had a 40 year career in mental health services, teaching (Wheaton College), healthcare quality and safety, and international relief and development. The GHF was created to assist National Evangelical Alliances and their NGO stakeholders with networking and acquiring resources for church-based health missions.
